Iverskiy Female Cloister, the Beer Factory (Dno), the Restaurant "Von Wakano"

There is Iverskiy female cloister not far from the Strukov's garden, which was founded in 1850 as the charity sisters' community. The cloister as an ensemble was formed in XX century. There are temples and belfries there. The architect K. Ton influenced the project of that cloister. The nuns earned for living by needlework. Bulgarian people guards' banner was embroidered here in 1877. Since 1993 the cloister is in force again. There was a cemetery here where the monument for P.V. Alabin situated.

The Zhigulensk's Beer factory is situated opposite Iverskiy female cloister. Alfred von Wakano founded it in 1880. German firm "Schvalbe" reconstructed this factory in 1911. And the restaurant "Von Wakano" was opened in the years of Perestroika.
